Richard E. Jereissati, the Chairman of GMDS-USA, has extensive international experience in real estate investment and development, mainly in Brazil, Lebanon and the Middle East.

 

Mr. Jereissati founded BAUEN, a design and consulting firm, in 1980.  Since 1991, Mr. Jereissati has been General Manager and a shareholder of Jideco, s.a.l. (“Jideco”), where he has led the company in its real estate ventures in Lebanon.  Mr. Jereissati is also founder of Urbat, a Lebanese company specialized in the design and supervision of construction projects, as well as founder of Gemo Liban, a joint venture between Jideco and Gemo, a French company specializing in construction management.

 

In 1992, Mr. Jereissati established GMD Holding, a privately owned group of companies. GMD-Holding operates integrated service, among its subsidiaries companies: GMDA, GMD Offshore, VARICRED, URBAT, GMD Inc., and GEMO-Liban. Today, GMD employs more than 100 skilled engineers, technicians, and staff members and operates in 4 continents and has worked on projects worth over $ 2 Billion US Dollars.   One of their major projects was the construction design and engineering work for the US Embassy in Iraq.

 

Mr. Jereissati has a long experience of more than 20 years in political organizations and leadership at local and national level; he was the head of the foreign affairs department of the largest political party in Lebanon where he contributed to its political impact and institutional and social development.

 

Mr. Jereissati holds a Degree in Architecture from the Ecole Spéciale d' Architecture in Paris.  He also has attended the INSEAD Advanced Management Program, as well as seminars at Pont et Chaussées Real Estate Program in France.
